What is an IPN?

An Irish Personal Number (IPN) is a unique identification number issued by the Companies Registration Office (CRO) to individuals who do not hold an Irish Personal Public Service Number (PPSN). It is required for anyone who wishes to be appointed as a director or secretary of an Irish company but does not have a PPSN.

Who Needs an IPN?

• Non-Irish residents who wish to be appointed as directors of an Irish company
• Individuals residing outside Ireland who do not have a PPSN
• Foreign nationals setting up a company in Ireland

Application Process

The IPN application requires:

• Completion of the CRO VIF (Verification of Identity Form)
• Certified copy of passport or national ID
• Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement dated within 3 months)
• Documents must be certified by a notary public, solicitor, or embassy official

Processing Time

Once submitted to the CRO with all required documentation, an IPN is typically issued within 5-10 working days. We will handle the entire application process on your behalf and notify you once the IPN has been issued.
